Yuki Manuela Janke

Yuki Manuela Janke, who was crowned in 2007 with the 3rd prize at the Tchaikowsky-Competition in Moscow and just after that with the 1st prize at the Sarasate-Competitions in Pamplona, was born 1986 in Munich and got her first violin instruction at the age of three.

After early successes at “Jugend musiziert”, finally in 2001 at Bundes-competition with the highest score, followed many 1st prizes at international competitions, often connected with special prizes like at Louis-Spohr Competition in Weimar, at Andrea-Postacchini Competiton, at Henri-Marteau Competition and at Johannes-Brahms Competition in Pörtschach. She is also winner at many other international competitions like Kloster Schöntal violin competiton, EMCY International Music Competition, at international violin competition in Cologne, at Sendai International Music Competition in Japan, at Long-Thibaud Competition in Paris and at Leopold-Mozart violin competition.

In 2004, she won the renowned Premio Paganini in Genova and since then she has been giving concerts regularly with orchestras like Berliner Rundfunk-Symphonieorchester, WDR Rundfunkorchester (conductor: M. Jurowski), Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia (conductor: Vladimir Spivakov), NHK Symphony Orchestra (conductor: Kristjan Järvi), Nihon Philharmonic Orchestra (conductor: K. Kobayashi), Buenos Aires Philharmony Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and many others.

She has given recitals in important halls in Europe, Japan, South America and Mexico, among others in the Konzerthaus Berlin, Musikhalle Hamburg, Philharmonie Cologne, Wigmore Hall (London), Theatre du Chatlet (Paris), Tonhalle Zurich, Santory Hall (Tokyo), Kitara Hall (Sapporo), Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and Palacio de bellas Artes in Mexico. She was invited to Music Festivals like Musicfestival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Schleswig-Holstein-Musicfestival, Festival européen jeunes talents, „Lago Maggiore“ in Italy, Musical Olympus Festival in Russia, Ohrid Summer Festival in Macedonia, Musicfestival „Instrumenta“ in Mexico and Bach-Festival in Bern.

Yuki Manuela Janke is supported by the “Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben” Foundation and has been a scholarship holder of the “Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes” since 2005. Since November 2007 she has played on the Stradivarius “Muntz” (Cremona, 1736) loaned by the Nippon Music Foundation. In 2012 Janke became 1st Concertmaster of the Staatskapelle Dresden.
